Our Programs

The aim of Indonesia’s culinary programs is to spice up Germany. For the first time in Frankfurt Book Fair’s history, a Guest of Honour country is showcasing its treasured spices and ingredients for public in Germany.

Indonesia will share educational and entertaining topics on Indonesian ingredients and cuisine, and most importantly, Indonesia is inviting people in Germany to enjoy its delicious food and its warmth of friendship. People around Frankfurt and visitors to the Frankfurt Book Fair will be pampered with many opportunities to enjoy Indonesia’s delicacies.

At Frankfurt Book Fair

There are mainly two venues for our culinary events: Gourmet Gallery and The Island of Spice. In the renowned Gourmet Gallery Hall 3.1, there will be daily cooking shows by Indonesia’s famous chefs and culinary figures. The shows present a diversity of Indonesian cuisine and cooking elements. The chefs will share their secrets in mixing spices and flavours to create a simple traditional dish.

Inside the Indonesian Guest of Honour’s Pavilion at the Frankfurt Book Fair, our culinary programs will be placed at The Island of Spice. Here, guests can enjoy specially brewed coffee while watching culinary talks and book launches by famous culinary figures. At the main exhibit, Spice Installations, visitors can touch and smell more than 50 ingenious spices from Indonesia.
